Mr Bolligrew’s Song

I’m Bolligrew the grocer, I am a very busy man

As I trundle round the villages with groceries in my van.

I’m always very happy if you stop me for a chat

And as I leave, I’ll give a wave and politely doff my hat.

I sell lettuces to bunnies and sell pollen to the bees;

I have doughnuts for the elephants, and then I climb the trees

To give monkey-nuts to monkeys and some breadcrumbs to the birds

And a dictionary for parrots ‘cos he likes to learn new words.

Yes, I’m Bolligrew the grocer, and I’m happy at my task.

Just try me with your orders, I’ll get anything you ask.

And as I load my big blue van and travel on my rounds

I sing this song made up for me by my friend
